Fans of Monica! I am doing a special project for Monica. I would like to put pink ribbons or pink push pins on a world globe to signify where each of you live. I would like to show Monica just where all of her support is coming from. How cool it would be to have at least one ribbon from each state and at least one ribbon from each hospitable continent! Please help me with this rather ambitious project.

What do I need from you? Your name and your city in which you live! That's it.

Send it to me via my email link. Just put your city of residence in the subject line!

Thanks for making this happen!

Dale

Help us with our "Pink Ribbon Globe of Support Project". Help me to show Monica just where her all of her support is coming from...on a global scale!

Please sign this Guestbook. Monica and I would both love to see just who is out there in cyberspace keeping tabs on what's happening to us. Please leave your name, your city of residence and maybe how you heard about this site. We kind of know who's checking in, but I have a feeling that we're reaching way beyond just our cozy little neighborhood. Thanks!

Other than "How's Monica doing?" this is probably the most common question that I get asked. To be honest, it's also one of the most difficult questions to answer. It's easy for me to say "Monica's having a good day today", but it's much harder for me to admit that we are in need. Frankly, that idea is humbling and it's frustrating. It's humbling in the sense that our lives have been turned upside down and we are now ruled by forces outside of our control. And it's frustrating in the sense that what we need most cannot be given by anyone. Of course what we want most is a cure. Unfortunately no one out there can give us that.

Everyone who is reading this page wants to do something for us. It's human nature to try to help those in need.

Here lies the answer.

The best thing that you can do for us is to continue to be in our lives. We really are doing OK...all things considered. We have been blessed with some of the best family and friends that any family could ever have. You see, it is that vast network of people - what I call the human spirit - who give us the strength to keep going. I've told so many people that I get my solice from the many kids that I teach on and off the ice. Their passion for life invigorates me. It is what keeps me going. You see, sometimes the most obvious answer to such a difficult question is not something that you can hold in your hand. It is the energy that you give to us.

I know that this sounds mushy or even philosophical, but if you sit down and think about it, the most important gift that you can give another is time. It is what I have promised Monica. And it is all that she really wants from me.

There wiill be a time when we will need more that just time, but until that day, just tell us that you're thinking about us.

I open the blog to your thoughts...

Dale

One the biggest dilemmas that we face is accepting meals from the outside world. We know how much it means for you guys to help us out in a way that you know best, but you have to realize that if we let you all give us meals, we'd have to buy a meat cooler for the garage!

This is what has kept us from accepting all of your offers. First, you need to know that Monica's appetite is not what it used to be. Her tastebuds have been altered by chemo and her ability to process certain foods is now compromised. Second, our kids (like most) are very picky. They have their likes and dislikes and I hate to see food wasted simply because nobody likes brussel sprouts!

Given these circumstances, we are only willing to accept meals on a very limited basis.

Use this section to schedule dates, meal content and delivery logistics.
